Day Program
At the Arkansas Center for Independence, our Adult Development Day Treatment (ADDT) program is licensed by DDS, funded through Medicaid and the PASSE system, and closely monitored by the State of Arkansas.

The heart of our day program focuses on teaching essential life skills in a supportive, secure environment. Our goal is to empower individuals to grow, learn, and gain independence.
Independent Household Skills

Clients develop vital skills in our household skills classroom, designed to resemble an efficiency apartment. Here, they learn meal planning, basic cooking, laundry, and housekeeping. Emphasis is placed on self-care and adaptive behavior.

Technology Skills

In our computer lab, clients gain basic computer knowledge and internet safety, while advanced equipment is available for product development and design.

Life Skills Development

In two traditional classroom settings, clients focus on practical skills such as counting money, telling time, money management, personal safety, and emergency response techniques.

Physical Wellness

Our fitness center and indoor half-court basketball court promote healthy living and provide a space for training, including preparation for Special Olympics.

Meals & Medication Support

Clients enjoy a daily lunch, and we also monitor their personal medication during mealtime. There is no cost for clients to participate in the day program.
